It’s going to be an EPIC evening as renowned Japanese film score composer Joe Hisaishi is scheduled to perform at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan on Friday, July 10th, 2026.
He is the main composer for many Studio Ghibli films. For this event he will perform a selection of his film scores including selections from Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke and more. Joe Hisaishi has been giving triumphant concerts all over Japan as well as in Europe recently. Last year Hisaishi was recognized for his new 2023 album “A Symphonic Celebration”.

The Joe Hisaishi Live In Concert show is playing at Carnegie Hall on Friday, July 10th, 2016. The show will be screening a collection of scenes from various movies for which he wrote the score including films he did with the director Hayao Miyazaki as well as several other films.
Most of the world’s most recognizable movie themes have been written by Japanese film composer Joe Hisaishi. Famous for his collaborations with director Hayao Miyazaki, on films such as Spirited Away (“One Summer’s Day”), My Neighbor Totoro (“Journey of the Wind”), Howl’s Moving Castle (“Merry-Go-Round of Life”), Hisaishi’s latest albums explore the meeting point of traditional Japanese music and modern technology.
As one of the most awarded film composers worldwide, Joe Hisaishi has won multiple Japanese Academy Awards for Outstanding Music as well as receiving critical acclaim for his performances around the world in concert halls from Tokyo to Los Angeles.
The Carnegie Hall at 881 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10019 is located in the heart of Manhattan’s theater district.
